RENO COURTHOUSE

Competition 2018

The Reno Courthouse Project is a mixed use public private partnership. The project preserves the existing historic courthouse in downtown Reno while developing the parking lot that currently exists adjacent. The new Courthouse is a standalone building with a singular perforated metal façade. The transparent façade provides visibility into the courthouse while maintaining security. The building has four primary court rooms which divide the form into four sub boxes. The project was commissioned by a private developer as a proposal to the city to develop the site.
